The beginning of 2017 is looking very favorable for those thinking about buying verses renting.  The real estate market is steady with home buyers finding their "dream home" now .   Who is renting?   Renters typically fall in the age range of 20 to 29 years old.  When do they buy? Renters typically turn into buyers during the age range of 30 to 39 years old.

Fannie Mae’s monthly National Housing Survey®  called 1,000 consumers across the country and polled them on their thoughts about owning and renting a home, the economy, household finances, and overall consumer confidence.  The survey has positive feedback:
 It’s a good time to buy
 Good time to sell
 Prices will be up
 Mortgage Rates will go up
 Americans not as concerned about losing their jobs
 Household income up
